Šiaulių Bankas was established in 4th February, 1992. The Bank has been continuing its activities in conformity with the chosen direction aiming at comprehensive meeting of the customers’ needs, development of small and medium-sized businesses and implementation of regional projects. Market changes as well as growing expectations and wishes of market players became the main milestones that determined the progress achieved by the Bank.

We are a Lithuanian capital bank, which has gradually increased its market share during the last few years. The head office of the Bank is situated in Šiauliai.
Having started its activities in Šiauliai, by 1999 the Bank had established 14 branches and expanded its activities in north-western Lithuania thus stimulating economic development of the region.

Since 2000, Šiaulių Bankas has started creating its network all over the country. Every year saw the appearance of 7 to 14 new Client service Centres (CSCs). Some of them were later transformed into the Bank’s branches by acquiring a greater degree of independence and authority. At present Šiaulių Bankas has 51 subdivision, operating in 31 towns and cities of the country, servicing its customers all over Lithuania.

Šiaulių Bankas has five successfully operating subsidiaries: "Šiaulių banko lizingas" UAB, "Šiaulių banko investicijų valdymas" UAB, "Šiaulių banko turto fondas" UAB, "SBTF" UAB and "Minera" UAB. The Bank and its subsidiaries by coordinating their activities and different financial instruments apply flexible integrated forms of financing small and medium-sized businesses.

Earlier two more subsidiaries had been included into Šiaulių bankas Group. In July 2003 it has been decided to close the subsidiary "Šiaulių banko faktoringas" UAB which was established in 2002 - its services have been transferred to the bank’s network all over Lithuania. In April 2007 the share block of 99.86 per cent of another bank’s subsidiary “Pajūrio Alka” UAB was sold.

Traditionally focussing on the quality of services and the need to satisfy complex client demands, the Bank offers the whole spectrum of modern banking services. The banking service SB Linija available on the Internet, has added to the convenience of the clients and the effectiveness of satisfaction of their needs; popular payment cards MasterCard and Visa new types of deposits have been introduced, while standing order and direct debit services are being expanded. All subdivisions of the Bank work on-line which means that the Bank’s customer can be serviced in any branch or CSC of the Bank.

Crediting is the main activity of the Bank. The Bank offers short-term loans, credit lines, overdrafts and long-term loans from its own funds and from those of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the World Bank, The European Council Development Bank, Nordic Investment Bank, EU PHARE program. The Bank collaborates with the Central Project Management Agency and Lithuanian Environment Protection Investment Fund; it credits building and urban territories’ engineering infrastructure renovation or environmental protection projects.
